At present, bio-diesel is being produced from physic nuts (Jatropha Carcus) in Myanmar. To substitute fuel, all the State service personnel are implementing collectively physic nuts cultivation in respective States and Divisions to meet target as a national duty. Kayah State Peace and Development Council is successfully cultivating 40 acres of physic nut plants in Loikaw. Myanma Agriculture Service has been growing systematically physic nut plants in all the States and Divisions by laying down plans. Therefore, a total of 7 million acres of physic nut plants will be grown in respective States and Divisions including Kayah State meeting target yield during 3 years. In transforming the nation form traditional farming to mechanized one, the Energy Sector plays a vital role. The government is giving encouragement to grow physic nut plants en masse all over the country for production of bio-diesel that have been tested. « menos
